Climate change and nature loss are increasingly material to business. They affect supply chains, access to capital, asset values, operational resilience, and long-term competitiveness. Addressing these risks and opportunities requires informed, strategic leadership from the boardroom.
Board directors are expected to respond within a complex and rapidly changing geopolitical, economic, and regulatory environment. Their role is both strategic and fiduciary. They must consider how climate and nature affect long-term value creation, enterprise resilience, capital allocation, and the future direction of the companies they oversee.
Chapter Zero Slovenia was established in 2023 to support board directors in meeting this responsibility. It is the Slovenian Chapter of the Chapter Zero Alliance, a global network active in more than 70 countries. The initiative was founded by the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and the Slovenian Directors’ Association, with PwC Slovenia joining as the leading partner in 2025.
Chapter Zero Slovenia equips and inspires board directors to lead on climate from the boardroom. Through practical knowledge, expert guidance, peer exchange, and access to an international community, it helps directors strengthen their understanding of climate- and nature-related risks, opportunities, and governance responsibilities.
Our goal is to support boards in integrating climate and nature considerations into corporate strategy, risk management, investment decisions, and long-term planning. The aim is to enable effective governance that strengthens resilience, supports innovation, and creates lasting value for business, investors, society, and the environment.
