Chairman of the Climate Governance Initiative Discusses the Importance of Boards Tackling Climate Change

29 Marec 2023

The countdown for the launch event of Chapter Zero Slovenia has begun, and we couldn't be more excited! With just two weeks to go, we are delighted to share a Bloomberg Adria interview with Karina Litvack, Chairman of the Climate Governance Initiative and Non-Executive Director at Eni, conducted by Martin Tomažin from Bloomberg Adria.

Karina Litvack is the Chairman of the Climate Governance Initiative, an initiative developed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum in 2019. The Initiative aims to empower board directors around the world to address climate change by committing to the eight Climate Governance Principles (see more here), in order to recognise that climate action is an integral part of good corporate governance. This is achieved by developing and supporting national initiatives in each country, known as Chapters, that equip their members with the skills and knowledge needed to make climate a boardroom priority.

In the interview, Karina Litvack emphasized that governments have to take a leadership role in addressing climate change. But this is is not sufficient, as business also has to take the leadership role and needs to push governments to be more ambitious. She added that the directors who join the initiative are already convinced of the need to address climate change, but they usually need guidance on how to do it most effectively.

Chapter Zero Slovenia has joined the global Climate Governance Initiative to provide board members in Slovenia with a wealth of expertise and resources to tackle climate change.

Join us in our mission to make a positive impact on the sustainable future in Slovenia and watch the full interview.
